Skalagrad is a skill-based matchmaking and stat tracking site for Mordhau. Our goal is to enable everyone in the Mordhau community, from the casual to the hardcore, to easily compete against players of similar skill levels and track their progress as they hone their skills.
Skalagrad uses a dedicated server network with a custom Mordhau mod, which allows us to automically track, submit,
and analyze match results and player statistics.
We have also developed our own MMR algorithm specifically for the melee slasher genre, which focuses on individual player performance
to best represent the player's own skill level.
When you're ready to play a match, you can use this site to either challenge other teams or queue up for a ranked match, then join any of our lobby servers. Once everyone is ready, the mod will handle the rest.
While we already have many features and improvements we plan to add, we welcome any and all
feedback from the community. If you'd like to be more involved with Skalagrad, feel free to join our Discord.
Core features like matchmaking and basic stat tracking are and will always remain free. In order to support running costs for all of our servers, we offer subscription tiers which allow access to additional features on the website, such as more advanced stat tracking and the ability for teams to play clan matches on dedicated servers.
Matches can be initiated when a team captain challenges another team, or by using the on-site matchmaking (located on the top bar when signed in). Once you find a match or a scheduled match is about to start, you can then join one of our in-game lobby servers. When everyone is in a lobby server and ready to go, you will be automatically redirected to a game server and the match will begin.
MMR, or matchmaking rating, is a representation of player skill which is used to group together players of similar skill.
In the popular Elo rating system, MMR changes are determined simply by who won and lost a match and the difference between their MMR.
However, our own MMR algorithm expands on the Elo system to more accurately reflect players' skill by also factoring in individual player performance
in a way that is better suited to the melee slasher genre.
Although leaderboards are separated by region in order to ensure accuracy, MMR is still affected for your region when playing interregional matches.
As we initially must pay for all running costs out-of-pocket and don't know how many users to expect, we will start with servers set up in the most populated regions. If we see enough demand and receive support for other regions, we will be able to expand to them as well.
At the moment, Skalagrad currently does not have support for tournaments. We do plan to add on-site features for organizing and competing in tournaments, but for now we wanted to get the core features out as soon as we could.
You may report a player for violating our rules (seen on the Skalagrad Discord) by messaging a moderator on our Discord with evidence of the offense, along with proof of the player's identity.
The moderation team will then review the evidence and issue punishment as appropriate.
The best way to obtain proof of identity is by opening the in-game developer console (usually by pressing the ~ key twice) and entering "playerlist". This will show a list
of all currently connected players and their unique PlayFab IDs which you can screenshot as evidence.
To report a suspected griefer or cheater, you must provide video evidence containing unedited proof of the player's PlayFab ID from the "playerlist" command.
While we do not yet have support for in-game chat moderation, it is still important to us and we are working on it.
In the meantime, we ask that players do their best to be respectful of other players and to encourage others to do the same.
